The Camera Obscura - meaning darkroom in latin - is also referred to as a pinhole image as it lets light in through a small opening on one side and projects a reversed and inverted image on the other.

Slow shutter speed allows more light into the camera as the shutters are open for longer, this allows quick movements to look like on motion.

Fast shutter speed captures each movement of an image allowing it to give the illusion of slowing down time.
