RULE OF THIRDS

The rule of thirds is where a photo is dividd into three equal lines. Both horizontally and vertically. Where the lines intersect is critical as this is where the subject of the image lies.

GOLDEN SECTION

The golden section is a vertical line roughly a third of the way across an image to make the subject more appealing.

DYNAMIC SYMMETRY

Dynamic symmetry arranges elements in a frame using a dynamic symmetry grid. this is a series of lines that dissect the rectangular shape of the frame. Its a way of building a photo in a good proportion so that it's pleasing to view.

USE OF FRAMES

This is using elements to frame a subject to make an image more interesting and stand out.

USE OF LIGHT

This is how the light source is positioned in rotation to the subject.

CONTRAST

This is the degree difference between the elements that form an image .

REPETITION

Repetition of an item colour or element creates a pattern that draws attention to the photograph.
